Cevennes and Grands Causses – France

The latest in a brilliant little series of guides to various regions of Europe popular for wildlife holidays. Take one with you if you are interested in a general holiday in an area and to enjoy all the wildlife you encounter, or take one with you if you are birding, and want something to help with all the other wildlife you will invariably encounter. The first section describes the landscape and the main habitats and wildlife to be encountered in each. The central section looks more closely at the wildlife, including birds, mammals, orchids, other flora and insects. The final large section suggests numerous routes to take, some by vehicle, others walking routes, of varying length and level of difficulty to encounter the wildlife and scenery for yourself. Other titles (7 available to date) include Extremadura in Spain, Hortobàgy in Hungary and Bia?owie?a in Poland. Small, soft-backed and portable and very well researched and presented there is no excuse not to take this with you on your travels!
