The Birdwatcher’s Yearbook 2012

Every year this little book comes out, and every year it delights. It should be a standard piece of birding equipment!

Every one of its 328 pages is packed with useful information, ranging from contact details of local bird recorders, clubs and reserve details, right through to tide tables and the usual diary and checklist. With a dragonfly and butterfly log as well, this really does fill all year-listing requirements.
Articles include a celebration of the 75 years of the Scottish Ornithologists’ Club, a review of the best new bird books and a really useful piece on websites – there’s a few mentioned I’ve not come across before and will definitely be investigating!

Add in directories of events, suppliers of everything you will need when birdwatching and even holiday companies this really is a one-stop shop. An excellent buy.
