Skylark

When I started as BirdTrack Organiser last summer, I spent my first few days exploring the BirdTrack website. I quickly discovered the fascinating reporting rates graphs (as you may have noticed from my previous updates!), the graph for Skylark being one of the most striking. It is interesting to consider how 'detectibility' affects what we report and the U-shaped line for Skylark really demonstrates this; last Sunday I recorded my first Skylarks at the Nunnery Lakes reserve since late July though I suspect they have been in the nearby fields all along.
