Chris skips the border

Chris has joined Martin in Ivory Coast, skipping across the border from his previous position in Ghana. He has moved around 86km (53 miles) north-west and is 10km (6 miles) SE of Tankesse.

Martin joined by Chris in Ivory Coast

19 Mar 2012

On the 18 March Martin remained in Ivory Coast but he has now been joined by Chris, who is around 100km (62 miles) away to the south-east.

Still nothing from Clement

16 Mar 2012

It has now been 23 days since we last heard from Clement, and whilst we are getting concerned about him, this is still not the longest gap that we have had between transmissions from our cuckoos.

Lyster still near to Kasper

16 Mar 2012

On 14 March at 21.04, Lyster was still on the western shore of Lake Volta, Ghana, and still close to Kasper.

Martin still in Ivory Coast

16 Mar 2012

Martin's tag was picked-up at 20.02 on 15 March, which showed him in his previous location in Ivory Coast. He is still the most westerly Cuckoo.

No movement from Kasper

16 Mar 2012

At 09.21 this morning, Kasper was still on the north-west shore of Lake Volta, Ghana. He has been in this location for almost a month.

Chris close to Ivory Coast border

16 Mar 2012

As of 07.08 on 14 March, Chris was in southern Ghana, approximately 12km/7miles from the border with Ivory Coast and 150km/95miles north of the coast of the Gulf of Guinea.

Silence from Clement

13 Mar 2012

We haven't received any signals from Clement's tag since 22 February when he ventured in to Cameroon. He was the second Cuckoo to leave Congo but has since been left behind by all of the others as they moved west– he is the only one still in the eastern hemisphere! We have of course had many periods longer than this when we have not received transmissions from some of the Cuckoo’s tags but we are now concerned for Clement as we would have expected him to continue his movement westwards, towards where the other Cuckoos are, by now.

Kasper still in Ghana

13 Mar 2012

A signal received from Kasper's tag shows that he, like Lyster, has remained on the north-west shore of Lake Volta.

Lyster settled

13 Mar 2012

On the 12 March we received a transmission from Lyster's tag which showed that he has remained  on the north-west shore of Lake Volta, just north of Digya National Park, around 25km (16 miles) south of Kasper.
