BirdTrends

BTO and its Partners collate data gathered by many thousands of volunteer citizen scientists on the status of UK breeding bird populations, both in terms of numbers and demographic rates. These are updated annually and may be viewed through Trends Explorer.

For each species, users can quickly access the latest information on trends in population size, breeding performance and survival rates, as measured by our long-term monitoring schemes.

It is complemented by BirdFacts species pages which provide summary information on status, distribution, biology and population trends.

The BirdTrends report brings information on these trends together to provide a synthesis of these changes across species groups.
