Waterbirds in the UK

Waterbirds in the UK presents the results of the annual BTO/RSPB/JNCC Wetland Bird Survey (WeBS) report. Since 2022, Waterbirds in the UK is also the primary reporting mechanism for BTO/JNCC/NatureScot Goose and Swan Monitoring Programme (GSMP) results.

The report provides a single, comprehensive source of information on the current status and distribution of waterbirds in the UK for those interested in the conservation of the populations of these species and the wetland sites they use.

Digital PDF copies of current and past editions are available below, and there are further WeBS results on WeBS Report Online. Additional publications relating to results from the GSMP are available on the GSMP Newsletters and reports page.

Prior to 2005 Wetland Bird Survey reports were titled 'Wildfowl and Wader Counts' - they are also listed below.
