Identifying Water Pipit and Rock Pipit

Identifying Water Pipit and Rock Pipit

This video focuses on separating Rock Pipits, Water Pipits and Meadow Pipits.

Meadow Pipits are by far the most ubiquitous of these three species. Rock Pipits are UK residents, concentrated in coastal areas, whereas the Water Pipit is relatively rare. Rock and Water Pipit were once thought to be the same species, but can be told apart in the field by focusing on finer plumage detail.
