Submit a Data Request

Due to the number of data requests we get, we require a data request form before we are able to produce a quote or provide data.  A no-obligation quote will be sent out prior to any data search going ahead. 

Please note, we have revised the data request system, including the charges (the first since 2011) and the outputs you now receive. There is no longer the option of just receiving raw monthly data, though you will receive these raw data along with the five-year synopsis style data which is the standardised format we provide.

Please note, the most recent data we currently have available are for 2022/23. Data for 2023/24 will be available in April 2025 when the next Waterbirds in the UK Report is published.

WeBS data are based on non-breeding waterbirds. Requests for data on breeding birds or other data, should be directed to BTO data services.

Your data requirements might be able to be met via published open data instead of a detailed data request; please check the WeBS data page for a list of data available through other routes. We recommend a data request for full monthly site data for most commercial environmental impact assessments and similar projects.

For information on designated sites such as SPAs and SSSIs, the WeBS Alerts is an online information source from where trends in waterbird numbers on protected areas can be obtained.
