Robinson still settled in Gabon

Robinson is still in the area of dense forest in Gabon that he arrived in a month ago. He is moving around a little but seems settled on the northeast boundary of the Ivindo National Park.

PJ continues north

Around breakfast on 7 February, PJ's tag showed that he was in Cameroon. He is now over 1,500km (950 miles) from his winter location in Angola. He is currently in a area of wooded valleys on the northern edge of the Mbam et Djerem National Park, and to the south of Lake Mbakou.

Lambert has moved

Lambert has moved 134km (83 miles) to the north and west and is currently just to the south of the coastal town of Soyo, Angola. He is in an area of forest that another of our tagged Cuckoos, Bowie, used a month ago.

Carlton II on the move

Having spent around two months in the area just to the south of Booue, Carlton II has moved. During the last few days he has moved 79km (50 miles) to the north and east and is on the northern edge of the Ivindo National Park, Gabon.

Bowie not moving much

Since arriving in southwest Congo, Bowie has settled in an area to the south of the Niari River and to the east of the town of Makabara. We are receiving lots of locations from his tag that show he is moving around an area of dense forest and areas of more open forest. We last heard from him at 9.00am on February 6.

Thomas on his way back

Thomas' tag gave us a series of locations during the early hours of 31 January that put him in the southeast corner of Nigeria, close to the border with Cameroon. He is just over 1,000km (600 miles) from his last location in Gabon.

Selborne leading the way

Selborne is in West Africa! On the evening of 31 January Selborne's tag showed that he was in west southern Ghana. From the information we received it looks like he took the shortcut across the Gulf of Guinea, a sea crossing of 1,100km (689 miles). He is now 1,650km (1,000 miles) from his last location in Gabon and just under 5,000km (3,000 miles) from his New Forest breeding site, as the Cuckoo flies.

Lambert clocks in

During the evening of 29 January we received two locations that show Lambert hasn't moved but is alive and well.

Knepp is on his way

A location received from Knepp's tag during the early evening of 30 January showed that he is on his way back. He has flown 800km (500 miles) from northwest Angola, over DRC and Congo into Gabon. He is currently in northeast Gabon in rainforest just to the southwest of Mwagne National Park.

Sherwood further north

During the last week Sherwood has moved north and east within Gabon and is currently just to the south of Minkebe National Park, an area of dense rainforest. This latest flight has seen him cover 204km (127 miles).
