Team(s): Engagement
Encouraging birdwatchers to support and engage with the BTO and training them to take part in surveys are both central to the BTO’s goals. Jenny is responsible for helping to create and deliver educational material and training activities around bird identification and BTO surveys.  She provides support to the survey teams to help increase the profile of the BTO’s long-term monitoring schemes and recording programmes.
Prior to joining the BTO, Jenny worked as a senior research assistant working on a wide variety of field and lab-based projects involving birds and bumblebees. She has also worked as a research technician and field teaching assistant at university level where she developed her interest in teaching field skills and sampling methods to university students. She is a BTO ringer and a keen naturalist with a particular interest in birds, bird physiology and moths.
