In winter, thousands of geese flock to the UK to escape the freezing conditions in their more northerly breeding grounds. Telling Pink-footed, White-fronted and Bean Geese apart can be tricky. Feral Greylag Geese are also joined by wild birds, often mixing with other grey geese flocks and complicating identification.
