Join GBW for free
We want to help our garden birds, but we also want to bring people together and support wellbeing. We therefore offer GBW for free to encourage people to discover the joy of birdwatching and nature.
Joining for free will includes:
- Access to our online recording system
- Our weekly e-newsletter with information on recording and identifying garden wildlife
Participating for free does mean that BTO will lose a significant source of income – so if you are in the position to help with a donation, however large or small, we would be extremely grateful.

Support GBW with an annual subscription
Garden BirdWatch is funded by our supporters, who pay an annual subscription of £17. This includes:
- A copy of the acclaimed 220-page 'Garden Birds and Other Wildlife' (RRP £14.99), which will help you identify and learn more about your garden wildlife
- Our magazine Bird Table delivered four times a year
- Access to expert advice from the BTO to help you identify, understand and look after the wildlife in your garden
- Our weekly e-newsletter, packed with information on recording and identifying garden wildlife, and news from the GBW community.
