Learn and practise the survey methods for the Wetland Bird Survey (WeBS)

Build your confidence with the Wetland Bird Survey methods with an experienced surveyor, and learn how you can put your skills to good use in this valuable survey. The day will combine indoor and outdoor sessions and focus on improving confidence and skills to encourage participation. There will be opportunity to practise identifying the key species.

This course aims to provide you with the following:

  • Guidance on counting flocks of birds from experienced surveyors.
  • An understanding of how to carrying out WeBS counts.
  • Confidence in identifying the key species.
  • Opportunity to develop the field skills requried for WeBS counts.

This course is specifically targeted to increase WeBS coverage in Northern Ireland, hence we are able to offer it at no cost to participants.

Refreshments are provided; please bring a packed lunch.
