Join us on Saturday 2 March 2024 for a programme packed with talks at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) in Cambridge. Booking closes 8am Thursday 22 February.

The conference will feature talks by BTO staff including Chris Hewson, Senior Research Ecologist, on Cuckoo tracking; Rachel Taylor, Senior Ecologist from BTO Wales, on Curlew tracking and Phil Atkinson, Head of International Research & Principal Ecologist, on highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI).

We are delighted that The Witherby Lecture will be presented by Dr Norman Ratcliffe, Seabird Ecologist at the British Antarctic Survey. Norman's key research interests are in seabird population and foraging ecology and how these are influenced by oceanographic processes, fisheries interactions, competition and predation. Much of his current research is centred on the foraging and population ecology of high latitude diving seabirds, focusing on penguins, shags and auks. The work mainly involves collecting data using hi-tech tracking equipment which are subjected to advanced statistical modelling methods to elucidate migration patterns and foraging strategies.

A vegetarian/vegan buffet lunch is included with refreshments on arrival and throughout the day.

Registration is from 9am in the foyer of :

Lord Ashcroft Building
Anglia Ruskin University
Broad Street
Cambridge
CB1 1PT

The conference opens at 10am with a welcome and talk by our CEO, Juliet Vickery.

Further speakers and talk details to be announced.

Booking closes 8am Thursday 22 February.
