We look forward to welcoming you to this year’s Annual Conference! A one-day BTO conference with bird-related talks, birdwatching and socialising at Lough Neagh Discovery Centre. Come along to hear about bird research, monitoring and conservation work happening in Northern Ireland and beyond.

Booking is essential to secure your spot:

Entry is £25 per person* and includes registration, tea/coffee and a finger-buffet lunch. The food provided will be vegetarian by default so if you would like meat please specify upon booking using the Diet - details if 'other' chosen box.

*For those on lower incomes: we have a limited number of tickets available at a price of £10. We want everyone to be able to join us and so for those on lower incomes, including young people aged 25 and under and anyone else for whom the full ticket price would be a barrier, please feel free to choose this option.

With talks on:

  • Curlew conservation in the Antrim Hills - Katie Gibb, RSPB NI
  • Seabird populations in Ireland - Steve Newton, BirdWatch Ireland
  • The incredible navigational feats of Manx Shearwaters at Copeland Bird Observatory - Paddy Lewin, University of Oxford
  • What diet analysis can tell us about seabird populations - Nina O'Hanlon, BTO Scotland
  • Constant Effort Site bird ringing at Portmore Lough - Steven Fyffe, NIEA
  • DAERA's draft Seabird Conservation Strategy and Action Plan - Liz Pothanikat, NIEA
  • An update on BTO's work in Northern Ireland - Jemma Davies and Sorrel Lyall, BTO NI

Plus the choice of guided birdwatching on the reserve, time to birdwatch independently, or a workshop on winter bird migration with Sorrel.

Please note that booking closes on Sunday 27th October.
