Rachael Griffiths

Youth Engagement Officer

Rachael works within our BTO Youth team to deliver youth activities and help our Youth Representatives (YRs) reach a wide and diverse audience, as well as joining the BTO Youth team at Camps and other residentials.

Interests & Responsibilities

Rachael has always had a strong consideration for nature and wildlife and started her conservation journey at age 16. She also currently works as a freelance Science Communicator and Blog Writer for Operation Wallacea.

She has ventured to Indonesia and Honduras as a Terrestrial / Marine Research Assistant and Volunteer Surveyor and to Costa Rica to complete an internship in Wildlife Rehabilitation and Sloth Behaviour alongside Toucan Rescue Ranch. She undertook many student support roles at university, including Student Ambassador and Welcome Mentor.

Rachael has a developing passion for conservation community engagement and firmly believes that young people are at the core of BTO's drive for change.

  • Level 3 Animal Management, Hadlow College, 2016 - 2018  
  • BSc Wildlife Conservation, Nottingham Trent University, 2018 - 2022
