The Band-rumped Storm Petrel, also known as Madeiran Storm Petrel is a very rare vagrant to the UK. There have been several claimed in UK waters but the first to be officially accepted, in this case on the basis of the tracks of a GPS tagged individual. This bird was tagged on Tenerife, Canary Islands, before making a feeding trip to the Bay of Biscay and onwards into British waters southwest of the Scilly Isles in November 2021.
